Promoted as a natural source of iron to prevent iron deficiency and anemia, the Lucky Iron Fish has recently received funding on CBC’s ‘Dragons’ Den.’ We will be discussing whether, based on the results from a recent RCT, the lucky iron fish should be considered efficacious in reducing anemia and iron deficiency.

Meet & Greet with Edna Park Keynote Speaker

Join us at the Meet & Greet with this year’s Edna Park Lecture keynote speaker, Dr. Connie Weaver. The Meet and Greet will take place several hours before the lecture, on Nov. 8th from 3:30 to 4:30 pm at MSB 5254.

Dr. Weaver’s research interests include mineral bioavailability, calcium metabolism, and bone and cardiovascular health. The title of her lecture is “The Role of Diet in Preventing Osteoporosis.”

Call for Volunteers for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 2018!

Help promote nutrition awareness for children at the NSGSA booth that will be set up at the fair, held at Exhibition Place, from November 2nd to the 11th. The booth includes fun interactive activities to help promote healthy eating habits in children. This is also a great opportunity to also enjoy what the fair has to offer, as you’ll get a chance to walk around and explore while you’re there!
