Laura Vergeer 

“My name is Laura Vergeer and I’m very excited to be President of the NSGSA for 2020/21. I’m a fourth-year PhD student in the lab of Dr. Mary L’Abbé. My research mainly focuses on food company policies, commitments and actions shaping the food environment, particularly in the areas of product (re)formulation and food prices. In addition to my role within the NSGSA, I am
also Vice President of the Department of Nutritional Sciences Alumni Association. Outside of research, I enjoy running, cycling, reading and cooking. I hope to see you (virtually) at some of our NSGSA events this year!”
